Our Teams Today

Two active teams, one growing community

Students start young in LEGO® League and grow into our flagship Tech Challenge team — learning engineering, coding, and teamwork at every step.

2025–26 season: Decode Robot design & coding Innovation & outreach

Our flagship competitive team designs, builds, and programs a robot for the annual FIRST Tech Challenge. With a sweet candy-inspired identity and a serious engineering streak, the Nerds compete in the Decode season while mentoring our younger roboticists.

2025–26: Unearthed Next up: BioGlow! A new theme every year

Where it all begins. Our youngest roboticists build and program LEGO robots, research real-world problems, and live out FIRST’s Core Values. Each season the team reinvents itself with a brand-new name and identity — most recently competing at the Glendale Qualifier in the Unearthed season.

About Anthem Robotics

A pipeline from curiosity to capability

Anthem Robotics is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2018 in Anthem, Arizona. Our mission is to use the opportunities provided by FIRST to create a space where students expand their knowledge of STEM, develop well-roundedness through skills like design, public speaking, and writing, and grow in a safe, fun, team environment where everyone feels welcome.

We use robotics as the “lightning rod of interest” — and we embrace FIRST’s values of Gracious Professionalism® and Coopertition® in everything we do.

FLL

Start in LEGO® League

Elementary & middle schoolers discover STEM through hands-on builds.

FTC

Advance to the Tech Challenge

Students join the Nerds Gummy Cluster to build real robots and write real code.

FRC

Aim for the big leagues

Our FRC heritage paved the way — and remains part of our story.

Our Story

Eight seasons of robotics in Anthem

Since 2018, Anthem Robotics has fielded teams across all three FIRST programs. Here’s how we got here.

2018 · FRC

Anthem Bolts — FRC Team 7620

Our founding high-school team launched in Anthem and earned 501(c)(3) status, setting the stage for everything that followed.

2018–2024 · FLL

FIRST® LEGO® League — Team 46735

Our LEGO League team has competed nearly every season under a new name — from the Nuggets to the Shakespearean Pirates — introducing dozens of young students to STEM.

2022 · FRC

RoBeagles — FRC Team 8745

Our rookie FRC season as the RoBeagles was a standout — earning the Rookie All Star, Highest Rookie Seed, and Rookie Inspiration awards across Arizona regionals.

2024 · FRC

Team 8-Bit — FRC Team 9432

Student-led and mentor-guided, Team 8-Bit built 120-pound competition robots and won the FRC World Championship in 2024, backed by sponsors including NASA and American Express. The team is not competing this season.

Today · FTC + FLL

The Nerds Gummy Cluster & our LEGO® League team

Our focus today is on growing young engineers through FIRST Tech Challenge (Team 30401) and FIRST LEGO League (Team 46735).
